Germs or no germs?

Today we did a experiment that was called Germs or no germs. We got a patato and rubbed it on the place that we thought had the most germs. We had partners. It was a little gross, but we lived. My object was the tetherball, and it's more germier than I had thought. My object was the toilet handle, it was really wierd and gross. But we will find out next week what the germiest place in school is.

There were a lot of sail boats. We do not no why. There was a kid spining a wooden hoop. Then we aksed some quetions and then went back into are classroom.   -James
I thought that I would add on a bit to what James wrote about in his blog post, which is very good already.  I am so proud of the profound insights that these fantastic third graders shared during our videoconference with the Cummer Museum.  For those of you who may not know, we were so fortunate to have the opportunity to chat live with a docent at the Cummer, while never even setting foot outside of Chets Creek.  We took part in this conference as a follow up to the field trip that we took to the Cummer Museum last week. While sitting in the comfort of out media center, we spoke back and forth with a wonderful docent who stood in the museum and shared a work of art with us.  As James mentioned, she shared a beautiful painting of a cityscape in the Netherlands. The painting included many small details which we discussed throughout the videoconference.  We spent time looking at the painting and posing questions about it to our docent, who answered them very well.  We plan to spend some time over the next couple of weeks researching more about some of the questions that came about in regard to this painting.  Stay tuned!  Mrs. Zawis
